Meet the Artist...
Andréa Daly is the artist behind Tonka Beans Studio. Born and raised on Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands, she grew up in a bi-racial household of mixed European American and African American ethnicities. Art has been of passion of hers since childhood.
She studied fine art at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA before embarking on an artist career on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Shortly after moving to the small town of Pahoa, she became pregnant with her son and took a long pause from artistic pursuits. She spent a period of time off-grid homesteading, learning biodynamic farming, and being a mother to her now, fourteen year old son.
Currently residing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Andréa now works part time as a flower farmer, owns an eco-friendly housekeeping business, and is finally make art once again. She sells her art at both the Eugene Saturday Market and the Whiteaker Community Market.
Giving back is important and Andréa donates a portion of her proceeds to help fund reforestation projects through the non-profit organization TreeSisters.
